Lara just shook her head, “Oh hell, Fell.” She said picking up her feet, the chains clunking and sloshing on the floor. Her lips swipe to the left and she nods. “Don’t have to tell me about nerves, you remember ol’ Mar don’t ya. What’s got you in a tizzy today?”

Felicity pours another bowl full of water, ripping up a mint leaf and tossing it in, swirling it with a finger before taking a smaller healthier sip "I had a package of rence paper and it seems to be missing" she frowned taking another sip "And I heard some others talk about missing bread from the bakery" she looks over her shoulder towards the bakery as if that might help explain what she was saying "I know there are she-urts down by the docks, and people tell tales of panther girls coming into town to steal..." she shrugs then letting the words drift off "Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I've just misplaced his paper, there probably is no thief in Laura"

Lara looks back to the Inn and then to Felicity, “A thief? Hmmm.” She points to the leaf that went into the cup and says, “I find ginger works better.” A foot taps on the floor boards the chains clink, curious as to the noise she looks down. Oh yeah.. that’s right. “You think that fella you tried to steal you is back… could he be the one?”

Felicity looks down at the clinking chains, as if they might sneak up and bite her like snakes with a life of their own but her head snaps up at her comment "Ginger?" and laughs "Sorry, yes Ginger does alway make me feel better too" with a wink. She took another sip, nodding thoughtfully "You could be right, maybe he is back, he was a dangerous looking sort. I'd hate to think it was one of the citizens I've come to know here stealing"

Lara returns the wink and then hmms giving a leery glance to the side as her finger taps on her chin. “Could be.. you heard about the census. Maybe that’s why they are doing it. Maybe they know something we don’t, stands to reason that might flush a thief.”

Felicity raises her brow, blinking a few times "I never thought of that. You could be right. Lady Kalie is wily that way, if that is what they are doing she would be on it for sure." the hmmm sound she made vibrated and echoed as she took another sip from the bowl "Anyway, that's a secondary matter. How are you doing? Lots of changes lately. It looks like you are doing well, but I don't know how much of that is real. You are quite the accomplished actress after all. I still say you belong with the players"

More importantly, who is the thief?

A shadow paused near the door, then crept across the floor. The flickering light of the dying fire would pick up a flash of bare skin before feet darted across the room. There was a rustle of paper as a package of rence paper was lifted and shoved into a bag held in place by the curve of a shoulder. Paper was needed for lists and other equally important scrawling words.

The paper soon joined other items in a secluded hiding spot -- bread, bosk jerky, a few furs, fishing pole, bow and a few arrows.

There were other things that needed to be collected. But that was why the list was needed. One couldn't steal things that weren't on the list. Ah darn it, a list couldn't be made without a marking stick or quill... that would have to be the next object to disappear from the city of Laura.

Oh this is awesome! Very clever.

I wonder when people will realize IC who the thief is.
Or how many more missing things will be blamed on this thief whether it was really her or not!

I've trying to figure out how I should let people know something has been stolen... if I should send over the roleplay, or just tell them "hey, such and such has been stolen." I'm leaning towards just saying so.

I'd vote for sending them a notecard with the RP that took place while they were gone. Not only does it add to the fun (nothing like logging in to do "a" and learning that now you have to deal with "b") but also will at least give them some understanding as to what happened. I would be mad if, say, someone just sent me a note that my kalika was taken while I was gone. If a notecard was given showing that RP was involved then I would still be mad but at least would feel more of a part of something and likely to get involved.

Of course, the notecard would presumably have information that IC I wouldn't know but it would still be fun to read. It would also be neat if you could (a) leave a clue in the notecard so that IC the person would have something to work with in trying to figure out who did it; and (b) managed to get the notecard delivered in a manner--via a 3rd party?--that the person didn't know who it originally came from.

Just some thoughts...

Ok, I'm sending notecards after I steal things. I dunno about the clue thing though... I do want to give people a little bit of opportunity to catch me, but I don't want scream "Here I am, come and get me!!"

The hard part is meeting up with the people I really need to roleplay something with before Dear runs off.
